About The Author
Kenzi Dodd
Kenzi Dodd’s approach to children’s storytelling is rooted in empathy, simplicity, and emotional honesty. She believes that some of the most important lessons children learn aren’t academic; they’re emotional. Understanding feelings, accepting differences, and believing in oneself form the foundation of growth.
Wilma the Wiggly Worm was inspired by a passion for meaningful storytelling and a desire to create something that could quietly impact a child’s life. Kenzi wanted to write a story that felt gentle rather than instructive, allowing children to recognize themselves in Wilma’s experiences.
The book reflects Kenzi’s belief that everyone has their own pace, strengths, and way of moving through the world. Rather than teaching children to compare themselves to others, she encourages them to notice what makes them unique.
Through her writing, Kenzi hopes to spark conversations between children and caregivers about feelings, frustrations, and self-acceptance. Her work is guided by the simple hope that stories can comfort, inspire, and remind young readers that being different is not only okay, but it’s important.
